FAQ

Independent Project Monitors (IPMs)

5 questions

Q1Who can become an IPM?

Engineers, builders and quantity surveyors registered with COREN, NIQS or an equivalent recognised professional body, with relevant site experience.

Q2What does an IPM do?

You visit the site, inspect the work against the BuildTrack Milestone Verification Standard, capture geotagged evidence and certify or reject the milestone. Your certification is what triggers an escrow release.

Q3How are IPMs paid, and what does it cost?

Joining Escropro is free: there is no subscription fee for IPMs. You are paid an inspection fee for each milestone you verify, through the platform, and BuildTrack deducts a 1.5% commission from each inspection fee at payout.

Q4How is my independence protected?

Inspections are assigned by the platform, and you report to BuildTrack, not to the developer. Your fees do not depend on whether you approve or reject a milestone, and conflicts of interest must be declared.

Q5What tools will I use?

The Escropro app gives you structured digital checklists, geotagged photo capture and a guided report, so every inspection is fast, consistent and fully recorded.
